Coaching
To apply to be a coach you need to either sign up at registration or contact the coaches committee at coaches@huntleyfootball.org.
Huntley Youth Football is now a partner organization with the
American Sports Education Program.
Listed at this link are all the ASEP
requirements for Huntley Youth Football coaches.
To continue to improve on the high quality of coaching we have in the Huntley Youth Football program we have implemented a Mandatory Off-season Coaches Clinic Program.
Every head coach must be ASEP certified in the Coaching Principles course and pass an interview process.
Below is a list of some of the clinics being offered.
What you will see is that there are 5 HYF Clinics that are mandatory. Failure to attend the mandatory clinics may affect the coaching selection process for the upcoming season. If a situation arises where you are unable to attend a mandatory clinic please contact the coaches committee in advance.
A big part of our programs success lays not only with the Head Coaches but with the assistant coaches as well. That is why these mandatory clinics are for all assistant coaches as well as the head coaches. There is a lot of information made available to coaches and it is up to each of us to step up and grasp that information. As a potential assistant coach and possible future head coach please do your part to make our program a success. Assistant coaches must also be ASEP certified in the Coaching Youth Football course.
We have set the bar high and are looking for nothing but the best across the board and our coaches are no exception. As we continue to grow, we will ensure we have highly qualified coaches to run the Huntley Mustang teams. We feel that as our program continues to grow and our pool of available coaches are growing, we owe it to the players and their parents to create a process that will allow for the best coaching available for each team we put together. As a potential coach and representative of Huntley Youth Football, we know that you will do your part to make this program a huge success. We thank you in advance for your support.

Attend the Tony Dungy Mentoring America's Youth Seminar at Willow Creek Church on 8/5/10 at 7:30 p.m. This seminar is mandatory. If you cannot make it, please let us know ASAP. There will be a video session "makeup" if you ABSOLUTELY cannot attend the seminar. (We're sure everyone will be able to make it, since it's on a night where we were going to practice anyhow.)
NO TCYFL TEAMS ARE PERMITTED TO PRACTICE ON THIS DAY - NO
EXCEPTIONS!!
You must have a ticket to enter! We will be at the Stonegate Conference Center (2401 W. Higgins Road, Hoffman Estates) starting at 4:30 and will be there until 6:30 to give you your pass for the event. You will then get your picture taken for your badge. After getting your picture taken, you can then proceed to Willowcreek.
Doors at Willowcreek will open at
6:30p.m. Tony Dungy will be available from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30
p.m. to autograph his book only! No tickets, footballs, or
helmets will be autographed.
All TCYFL coaches must have their new coach's badge picture taken on one of the following dates:
8/5/10 - 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m - Tony Dungy Mentoring America's
Youth Seminar - Stonegate Conference Center, 2401 W. Higgins
Road, Hoffman Estates (About 1 mile from Willow Creek Church).
This is the preferred time
to get your picture taken. If you don't get it done this night,
you must go on one of the following nights, or you won't be
issued a badge.
8/10/10 - 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. - Oak
Park High School, 530 Lake St.
8/14/10 - 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. - Mundelein - Behm Park,
22222 Peterson Road, Fremont Township. (1/4 mile north of
60).
The mandatory clinics must be attended by all potential Head and Assistant coaches. If you know you cannot make the mandatory clinic please email: coaches@huntleyfootball.org. Failure to attend the mandatory clinics will be considered when choosing coaches for the upcoming season.
